About Withers family in South Shields
Please sign in to see more.
This branch of the Withers family is in South Shields situated at the mouth of the river Tyne in the NE of England. Our roots however are in the Black Country, Kidderminster, Rowley Regis, Hasbury and Halesowen. My father Donald Withers was born in Birmingham. He met my mother Dora in 1944 when the ship he was serving on,the H.M.S.Belfast, put into the river Tyne for repairs. Within six weeks they were married and dad was off again to finnish his service in the Royal Marines with four more years in the far east.
At the present time we are back as far as 1738 in Kidderminster with Elizabeth the eldest of Thomas and Elizabeth's children.
